What does an HVAC tune-up consist of?

When it comes to keeping your HVAC system running efficiently, a seasonal tune-up is essential. During a tune-up, our technicians will check and inspect several system components to ensure that everything is working correctly.

Here’s what we look for:

1. Low refrigerant level.: This can cause problems with cooling efficiency and lead to compressor damage if not addressed quickly. If it is low, you have a leak. The tech will check the current level of refrigerant in your unit, service the leak, and ass refrigerant as needed.

2. Loose electrical connections: Loose or corroded electrical connections can create safety hazards or reduce energy efficiency by causing power losses throughout the system. The technician will inspect all wiring and tighten any loose connections as necessary for optimal performance.

3. Clogged condensate drain line: If these become clogged due to debris buildup, water may back up into the condensate pan, which could result in costly water damage repairs. Our technicians are trained to clear out blockages from these lines.

4. Proper function of the blower motor/fan:: This helps maintain proper airflow through ductwork while reducing wear on vital components. A thorough inspection/adjustment goes a long way toward ensuring reliable operation year after year.

5. Filter replacement: Dirty filters restrict airflow, reducing overall comfort levels inside homes while also increasing energy bills significantly – something everyone would like to avoid happening. An experienced HVAC tech knows exactly how often each type needs replacing (usually every 1–3 months depending upon usage patterns etc.) so they’ll get this done correctly.

If you are a DIY person, google search “how to replace my furnace filter”. Specify the make and model of your furnace/ac which you can find attached to the outside of your unit. Visit our Corpus Christi store to see the different styles of replacement filters. What makes one better than another? Of course, you can buy one or a few while you are here.

6. Thermostat calibration & testing: Ensuring accurate temperature readings from thermostats promises efficient operation throughout entire systems. You will have lower utility costs, improved comfort, and extended life of your HVAC system, Our HVAC pro can calibrate yours to the manufacturer’s specifications.

If you are unsure if you need a tune-up, call our certified technicians at Precision Air to schedule your HVAC visit.
